Part Time (2-18 year olds)

Although musical theatre overlaps with other theatrical forms like opera and dance, it may be distinguished by the equal importance given to the music as compared with the dialogue, movement and other elements of the works. Since the early 20th century, musical theatre stage works have generally been called, simply, musicals.

Through acting, students develop skills in listening, speaking, taking turns and cooperation through playful and engaging activities. They sing and learn about the voice and how it works, how to stand, how to breathe, how to sing in tune and how to develop the confidence to expand the vocal range and increase the power of the voice. Students improve posture, balance and co-ordination through dance while developing confidence and the ability to work within a team.
