Originally from New Zealand, Rain trained at Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and also the New Zealand School of Dance. She has worked as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher in New York, London, Dublin, New Zealand and Australia.
Rain spent several years with Ballet Ireland, performing classical and contemporary roles and creating new works on the company. She is now a freelance artist and has recently performed with Opera Australia and Melenie Crowe Dance.
In 2011, Rain launched Rain & Lucky Dance Theatre, a project-based company. She also conceived, choreographed and directed The Dream Machine, her first full-length work commissioned by Collaboration The Project and nominated for an Australian Dance Award. Rain has won several awards for her choreography, including the Australian Choreographic Competition and Short & Sweet People's Choice.
Rain is very active in the Melbourne dance scene as a performer, creator, teacher and writer. She is also a regular guest tutor and choreographer at Dance Masters International in New Zealand. |
